What Are U-Tip Hair Extensions?
U Tip, also called Nail Tip, is a strand-by-strand permanent method. Each 1 g strand uses 100% Remy human hair with Italian keratin. The keratin bond looks like a nail or the letter “U.” During installation, the stylist puts a small section of natural hair inside the U shape. Then, they melt the keratin to seal it. The bond wraps around the hair, creating a strong hold with little slippage. This allows for natural movement, and the results last.

With proper care, U-tip extensions can last over 12 months. Since natural hair keeps growing, we recommend visiting your salon every 6–8 weeks for an adjustment. This keeps your extensions secure, natural-looking, and long-lasting.
Are U-tip hair extensions damaging?
When a trained stylist applies U-tips, they are safe and gentle on natural hair. Damage often results from low-quality keratin, cheap hair, or improper heat use—not from the U-tip method itself.
How to wash hair with U-tip extensions?
Wash no more than 2–3 times a week with sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner. Blow-dry at a low temperature; excess heat can weaken keratin bonds. After drying, apply a lightweight hair oil for shine and protection.
Can you reuse U-tip extensions?
Yes, U-tips can be reused. Some length may be lost during removal, as the old keratin bond is broken. A stylist can reapply new keratin tips before reinstalling.
What is the difference between I-tip and U-tip extensions?
Both are keratin-based methods but use different applications. I-tip (cold fusion) uses microbeads, while U-tip (hot fusion) melts the keratin bond with heat for a secure hold. U-tip offers a stronger, longer-lasting bond, while I-tip provides more flexibility.
