What is Genius Weft?
Genius Weft is an ultra-thin sew-in weft hair extension designed for semi-permanent hair extension applications. It is made from human hair through a stitching and sealing process to create a weft structure.
The weft base is approximately 0.7mm thick, making it lightweight, flat, and flexible. Genius Weft features a no return hair design and a cuttable structure, allowing the weft to be adjusted according to different installation areas for a more natural and comfortable fit.
How is Genius Weft installed?
Genius Weft is usually installed by a professional hairstylist. Before installation, the stylist evaluates the client’s hair type, length, density, and desired result, such as adding length or increasing volume.
Based on these factors, the stylist determines the installation area, the required weft length, and the amount of hair needed. The Genius Weft is then cut into the proper size for installation.
During installation, the stylist selects a suitable attachment method based on the client’s hair condition. Common methods include using silicone micro beads to create support points or braiding the natural hair into a base and sewing the weft onto the braid. These methods help keep the Genius Weft securely connected to the natural hair.
How is Genius Weft made?
Genius Weft is mainly made from human hair, nylon thread, and PU material used for sealing and reinforcement. During production, the raw hair is first sorted, aligned, and color-adjusted. The hair is then stitched to create the Weft structure, followed by PU sealing along the stitching area.
Unlike traditional weft extensions, the no return hair design of Genius Weft is mainly achieved through the PU sealing process. Traditionally, wefts typically include a section of folded-back hair, known as return hair, to help the stitching hold the hair securely and reduce the risk of shedding.
After stitching, Genius Weft uses PU material to seal and reinforce the hair and stitching area, replacing the fixing function of Return Hair. As a result, the hair can remain securely attached to the Weft Base without keeping Return Hair, while reducing the risk of shedding.
Removing Return Hair also helps reduce extra thickness at the base, making the Weft Base thinner, flatter, and more comfortable to wear.

Genius Weft can be cut according to the client’s installation area and required size. The polyurethane (PU) sealing structure helps secure the hair and stitching areas, keeping the weft base stable after cutting and reducing the risk of loose hair and shedding. - No Return Hair Design
Genius Weft features a no return hair design, which removes the extra thickness caused by folded-back hair and creates a thinner, flatter base. It also helps prevent short, folded-back hairs from touching and irritating the scalp, improving wearing comfort.
